Community Guidelines

Effective 2026-09-29

Why this exists

Nisatsu generates short language-learning stories from a topic and your vocabulary level. Stories you generate are private by default. You can opt in to share a story with friends or post it to the public Community library, where other learners can read it. These guidelines describe what those shared stories may and may not contain. They apply in addition to the Terms of Service.

What you can share

Original fictional short stories at any difficulty, on any topic, in any of the languages Nisatsu supports: slice-of-life, mystery, sci-fi, fantasy, travelogue, romance, history-inspired, or anything else you can describe in a topic prompt.

What we will not generate or host

The story generator is instructed to refuse, and shared stories must not contain:

  • Real, identifiable people. No politicians, celebrities, athletes, executives, journalists, activists, or private individuals named or described unmistakably. Invent original characters instead.
  • Sexual content. Nisatsu does not generate or host sexual content. Non-sexual romance is welcome. Sexual content involving anyone under 18, or the sexualization of minors in any form, is prohibited without exception.
  • Step-by-step instructions for harm. Stories may reference that drugs, weapons, hacking, or self-harm exist, but must not function as a how-to guide.
  • Content that incites or glorifies hatred or violence against a protected class, race, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, nationality, or disability.
  • Requests to recreate or extend someone else's characters, settings, or story worlds. Invent original characters and worlds instead. See the DMCA page if you believe a shared story infringes your copyright.

Nisatsu does not host mature content. Stories that contain sexual content, graphic violence, or self-harm are rejected at generation by our content classifier. There is no opt-in toggle, no mature library, and no per-account exception. If a prompt or its generated output crosses the line, generation fails and nothing is saved. If you need adult-themed material to learn a language, this is not the right tool.

Reporting

Every shared story has a Report button. You can flag a story you think violates these guidelines and choose a reason: harassment, hate, sexual, violence, copyright, spam, or other. (For formal DMCA takedown notices, rights-holders should use the procedure on the DMCA page instead.) We use that signal as follows:

  • When enough independent learners report the same story, it is automatically hidden from the Community library and reverts to private.
  • Individual reports are recorded for operator review. The automatic threshold remains the immediate safeguard; authors can request a direct review by email.
  • Coordinated bad-faith reporting reduces the weight of future reports from the involved accounts so brigades cannot suppress legitimate stories.

Stored report records use pseudonymous identifiers. If a report concerns an immediate safety issue, copyright, or another matter that needs direct attention, email contact@nisatsu.com.

Shared profiles also include Report profile and Block profile controls. Blocking takes effect immediately and hides profiles, friend requests, and shared stories in both directions. Profile reports enter the same operator moderation process as story reports.

If your story was removed

When the reporting threshold is reached, the story's visibility changes to Private in your library. To ask for a direct review, email contact@nisatsu.com. Include the story ID and a short note. We aim to respond within 7 business days.

Account-level enforcement

Repeat or severe violations can lead to account suspension or termination as described in the Terms. We do not suspend on a single ambiguous report.

Copyright is the one place with a fixed number. An account that is the subject of 3 or more valid, unrebutted DMCA takedown notices within any 12-month rolling window is terminated as a repeat infringer. Notices we determine are defective, rescinded, or improperly addressed do not count. The full policy, including how to file and how to counter-notify, is on the DMCA page.

Changes

We may update these guidelines as the Community feature grows. These guidelines are part of the Terms, so a material change here is a material change to the Terms: it is announced through the same in-app notice and the same email that announce a Terms update, and that notice names the Terms of Service. The notice is tied to your account, so it reaches you whichever device you sign in on, and the email goes to the address we have for you if we have one. Changes take effect on the updated effective date, and your continued sharing after that date means you accept the updated guidelines.
